Ashley Brethel

Owner/Speech-Language Pathologist

Ashley is a NY licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), and the proud owner of Ashley Brethel Speech-Language Pathology, PLLC. She has served the pediatric population for over 11 years, and specializes in treatment of Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), Speech Sound Disorders, Expressive and Receptive language delays, Phonological disorders and Auditory Processing Disorders. Ashley is level 3 PROMPT trained, utilizing her training to target correct production of speech sounds.

Ashley enjoys providing therapy in a child's most natural environment to ensure progress can be carried over easily. She has a focus on using literacy during sessions, and loves to be hands on with her clients and families. Therapy does not only include individual sessions, but also family training.

Ashley received both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Hofstra University on Long Island, NY. During her Masters program, Ashley received a variety of externships including a special ed preschool, public elementary school, and traumatic brain injury outpatient facility. She completed her Clinical Fellowship year doing both home care therapy and working with a middle school in Stamford, Connecticut. 

When Ashley is not spending her time providing speech and language therapy, she is spending time with her own family. She has a supportive husband, Dave, and two red headed boys: Nate (5) and Oliver (2). They love spoiling their dog, Nike Rose. Ashley and her family enjoy spending time outdoors, visiting Disney World, and engaging in imaginative play. She is an avid reader and has carried her love of books to her children.
